Dr Otesile completed his medical school at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he obtained Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2006.
His internship programme at the University College Hospital Ibadan, gave him an extensive exposure and hands-on involvement across a full scope of specialities, including Urology, Nephrology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics.
He had his first exposure to General Practice in the rural Northern Regional area of Nigeria then later at the Metropolitan city of Lagos. He found this work incredibly rewarding, being in a unique position of having his own group of patients, and making a tangible difference to their lives appealed to him most about this career. This drove his passion to continue to broaden his knowledge in this space.
Dr Otesile holds a Masters in Public Health (Management and Leadership) from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom and had an extensive practice in Emergency Medicine at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands (now University Hospital Birmingham) for about 3 years prior to specialising in General Practice.
Dr Otesile completed his General Practice Vocational Training Scheme (GPVTS) in August 2019 at Doncaster, United Kingdom where he rotated through Care of the Elderly, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Palliative Medicine and of course General Practice specialties. After which he received his certificate of completion of training (CCT) and became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Before moving to Australia in 2024, Dr Otesile practiced mainly at Chesterfield, Derbyshire in the United Kingdom, where his clinical interests were in Chronic Disease Management, Palliative Care, Mental Health, and Elderly Care.
Dr Otesile believes in taking a holistic approach to healthcare and encourages his patients to be active in their own health and take an active role in maintaining their well-being. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to his patients.
At his free time, he is a keen reader and a travel enthusiast. He also enjoys gardening, volunteering and nature walking. Dr Otesile is currently accepting new patients from the middle of May 2024 and is excited to join an incredible team at Westview Medical Centre.
